More Info
Beckum is a junior and his hometown is Milwaukee, WI.

Travis Beckum came from a town known for grooming the best football players in Wisconsin. With that, he was ranked as the best high school player in this fine state. This ranking put him in the top six in the country as a tight end.

He spent his freshman year as most new players do, on special teams. By year two, he was in the running for the John Mackey award for tight end. His sixty-plus catches for nearly one thousand yards were nearly a record number for Badger players. He finished the year averaging over seventy yards per game. He held the record for longest play from scrimmage, and during three separate games, he gained over one hundred receiving yards.

As a sophomore, he had six starts, and played in all thirteen games. He won the “tight end of the year” award by the Touchdown Club. He made first team All-American by Walter Camp. Other awards for his play in 2007 include a Big Ten first-team nod, and the Wayne Souza Coaches award. He led the nation in receptions as a tight end at 75, which are also a Badger record. He made Player of the Week against Ohio. Many more awards were heaped upon Beckum for his performance. It is certain that he will leave Wisconsin as a high draft pick. The Badgers have him for one more season.
