Philip Welch had the record for most points as a field goal kicker during his play at Fort Collins High. He kicked a 56 yard field goal in his senior year. He also holds the record of 19 field goals. For 2007, he was a red shirt freshman. In 2008, Welch was named the team player of the week against Iowa. He scored three field goals in that game. His longest field goal as a Badger is 45 yards. On August 30th, he was five for five on PAT’s, and had an average of 61.9 yards for kickoffs.
