P.J. Hill
P.J. Hill came out East Elmhurst, NY (Brooklyn Poly) to play for our Wisconsin Badgers. He ranked as one of the top twenty players in New York State during his high school play. He also participated in track and field. His college major is Afro-American studies. His performance as a freshman in 2006 earned him a letter and he was chosen as Freshmen of the Year by Rivals.com. The awards came from all across the country, mostly putting him in the top ten rankings. His yardage on the ground put him seventh all-time freshman rusher for the NCAA. He played in every regular season game, and was only the fifth running back to reach over one thousand yards in seven games or less. In 2007 P.J. Hill made honorable mention for All Big 10. He ranked in the top five for yards and in the top twenty all-time as a Wisconsin Badger in a single season as a sophomore. Other records include a top-ten mark for touchdowns in a single season. He sat out a few games with an injury. Those games included Ohio State, and Minnesota. Had he been a part of those games, his numbers could have put him higher in the rankings. Another highlight of that year has to be his 72 yard run against the Washington Huskies. AT&T recognized Hill as a finalist for Player of the Week honors for his performance against The Citadel. Finally, The Sporting News put him in the top ten rankings of best college running backs. This top-level performance was accomplished having only started in nine of the eleven games he played. A healthy P.J. Hill is a force to be reckoned with at any time. © 2009 BadgerTickets.com Terms of Service |
