In his ninth season as Associate Head Coach coaching of the UW Badgers, Gard has coached 16 seasons with head coach Bo Ryan. Previously, Gard served as Ryan’s assistant coach at both UW-Milwaukee and UW-Platteville. Ryan salutes Gard’s attention to detail and thoroughness as a coach. In each of his seasons with the Badgers, the team has made it to the NCAA tournament In addition to coaching, Gard organizes recruiting for the Badgers, plans the future UW basketball schedules, organizes game preparation, and runs the Badger Boys Basketball Summer Camps. In 2007, Rivals named Gard one of the top 25 assistant coaches in the country.
