Cascone redshirted the 2005 season and made his debut on the defensive line against Indiana in 2007. He was named scout team defensive player of the week in both 2007 and 2008. He made his first career tackle in the Sept. 19th game against Wofford.

In his hometown of Newtown, CT, Cascone lettered four years in football serving as his team's captain as a senior.
