Bret Bielema took over the head coaching position at the end of the Badgers 2005 season. Barry Alverez went on to be Wisconsin's athletic director.

Bielema was assistant coach at Iowa before moving on to be co-defensive coordinator for the Badgers.

In his first season as head coach, he led the Badgers to a 12-1 record. From there the losses have increased, but 2008 is another winning season for Wisconsin.

Although Wisconsin has lost its top ten ranking this season, the Badgers have faith in Bret.
