Sorensen is a graduate of Eden Prairie High School in Minnesota where he led his team to back to back class 5A state titles as part of a winning culture he hopes will transfer to UW. As a senior was named “Mr. Football” in Minnesota, was ranked among the top 40 inside linebackers by scouts inc., and also earned All-America honors from Prep Star.

His freshman year in 2007 he would earn his first letter seeing action in 11 games mostly on special teams and spot duty at linebacker. 2008 saw him start his first two games of his career and for the remainder of the season he would appear on special teams becoming a major contributor on the punt unit.

Placed in the middle of a deep and experienced linebacker corps has limited his reps but a player with his skill level will soon get his chance to be a major part of that group in the next two years.
