Bill Rentmeester
Beaver Dam is where Rentmeester played his high school football. As a Badger fullback, Bill spent time on the field in eight games in his first year. By his sophomore year, he was called to action in every game. He had five starts that year, with a touchdown catch against Bowling Green. That was the first catch by a fullback in eight years. This all came about when the starting fullback went down during summer camp. In his junior year Bill played in twelve of thirteen games. This year, he had his first rushing touchdown. As a Badger fullback, he was expected to block more than run. The Fullback position is somewhat underappreciated in the UW offensive scheme because of the lack of touches, but in a ground heavy attack this role is extremely important. In 2008, Bill Rentmeester saw more time with the ball in his hands. He was named special teams player of the week against Iowa and Ohio State. He spent time as a kick returner, where he ran one back for nineteen yards on September 207th against Michigan. © 2009 BadgerTickets.com Terms of Service |
