Hailing from Thief River Falls, MN, Bendickson played for three different USHL teams before his days as a Badger. As a freshman, Bendickson played in all but seven games of the Badgers. He scored his first point as an assist against Clarkson in the College Hockey Showcase. As a sophomore, Bendickson scored the game winning goal during the first game of the season. This goal happened to be Bendickson’s first of his Badger career. Bendickson went on to score a game tying goal in the third period against Minnesota. That season, Bendickson was named to the Academic All-Big Ten. During his junior year, Bendickson scored his only goals against Alaska Anchorage and Colorado College; games that were right in a row. The Badgers won both games.
