Kohl Center tickets

Located at the heart of the UW Campus at the intersection of West Dayton and North Frances streets, the Kohl Center is home to both the men's and women's basketball and hockey teams.  Built in 1998, the Kohl Center is the third largest indoor venue in Wisconsin and the largest venue outside of Milwaukee.   With three levels of seating, the Kohl Center accommodates hockey, basketball, and concerts.   The Center is named after Senator Herb Kohl who donated 25 million dollars to the project.  His donation remains the single largest donation the UW campus has ever received.

The Kohl Center is known for its famous student section, named The Grateful Red, which has made it difficult for visiting teams to play.  At the end of the 2006-2007 season, the men's basketball team had a 125-11 record at the Kohl Center, posting only five losses between 2001 and 2007.  Aside from basketball, the Kohl Center also has the highest attendance rate for college men's hockey.

Aside from basketball and hockey, the Kohl Center has hosted concerts, graduation ceremonies for UW and Madison area high schools, political gatherings, career fairs, conventions, and UW's Varsity Spring Band Concert.  Barack Obama spoke at the Kohl center during his campaign just prior to the Wisconsin primary.  In April 2008, the Jeopardy college championship was filmed at the Kohl Center.

Among the popular musicians that have performed concerts at the Kohl Center are Aerosmith, Rod Stewart, the Dave Matthews Band, Shania Twain, ZZ Top, Bon Jovi, Britney Spears, KISS, Elton John and Billy Joel, Rascal Flatts, Fleetwood Mac, and the Eagles.
